Terms of Service for My CareerConnectThank you for visiting AFB CareerConnect®. Below you will find the Terms of Service Agreement for all users of the AFB CareerConnect site. Please read this agreement carefully before you register to use the site interactively or sign up to become a mentor. AFB CareerConnect is a service provided by the American Foundation for the Blind for people with visual impairments who are exploring career options and looking for job seeking tips. Anyone may read the articles or search the CareerConnect databases for careers or mentors; however, to contact a prospective mentor or to use the My CareerConnect features (resume builder, e-mail mentors, calendar, etc.) you must be a registered user. As you use AFB CareerConnect, please keep in mind that AFB staff and volunteers make every effort to keep the mentor database current and accurate. However, this is an interactive site and we do not review any E-mails before they are sent. If you receive a message that is objectionable, please inform AFB CareerConnect staff by writing to careerconnect@afb.net. Please be cautious about revealing personal information, especially contact information such as your full name, telephone number, and e-mail address. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any message and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of the American Foundation for the Blind. AFB is held harmless under any and all circumstances relating to user interaction through or with this site. You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use CareerConnect to e-mail any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or material that violates the intellectual property rights of others. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold AFB harmless with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s). AFB will not share, sell, or release information gathered through this site about you as an individual. However, AFB staff may analyze aggregate data regarding CareerConnect mentors and users as a whole or in specific subsets as dictated by research protocol. AFB also may be required to reveal your identity in the event of any legal action taken as a result of misuse of this service. AFB reserves the right to remove content or discontinue service of any user who violates the terms of service. AFB CareerConnect is intended as an information sharing vehicle for job seekers with visual impairments and those who help support them in their career exploration efforts family, friends, teachers, counselors, and significant others.
