Main Entrance

The main entrance doors to the Washington Marriott are on the West side of the hotel located on 22nd Street NW. You enter the hotel through one of the two sets of automatic sliding doors that are each the width of a single doorway. As you face the hotel, the set of sliding doors on your left slides open automatically right to left. As you face the hotel, the set of sliding doors on your right slides open automatically from left to right. Once you have entered through one of the first two sets of sliding doors, there is another interior set of sliding doors, which open in the same manner as the first set of sliding doors.

Lobby

You enter the hotel via the main doors that are located on the lobby level. Once you enter these doors, you will be facing the lobby "sitting area." This area offers two different sets of seating areas with sofa seating wrapped around a large round pillar. The sofa seating is facing outward from the pillar. This area has wireless Internet access for patrons, which can be accessed for free in the lobby area. Tile floors cover the entire floor surface of the lobby area. In addition to the two pillars with the sofas wrapped around them, there are two large round pillars and a large round decorative table in the middle of the lobby area. One of these two additional large round pillars is approximately 10 feet into the lobby area after you immediately enter the lobby area from the sliding automatic doors. It is in the middle of the area between the two sets of sliding doors.

If you are facing the main doors from either of the two lobby sitting areas, the North wall of the main entrance area is on your right. The North wall is where the front desk, gift shop, and hallway leading to where the Georgetown Ballrooms, ATM, and restaurants are located. They are all located in that sequential order as you travel along the North wall of the lobby area going from West to East. If you are facing the main doors from the lobby sitting area, the South wall of the main entrance is on your left. The South wall is where the bell desk and three main elevators are located.

Atrium Restaurant, Court Lounge, & Hotel Bar

The Atrium Restaurant is located in the Northeast corner of the lobby level. As you exit the elevator in the lobby area, proceed straight ahead (North) until you are in the middle of the lobby area parallel with the main entrance on your left (to the West). Then, turn to your right (East) and walk until the tile floor becomes carpeted. You will encounter the hostess desk for the Atrium Restaurant, which regularly has an attendant. The carpeted area of this dining area is the Cart Lounge, another casual seating area for hotel patrons not dining in the restaurant. To enter the Atrium Restaurant, you walk on the carpet behind the hostess desk. The Atrium Restaurant offers American cuisine.

The hotel bar is located in the first part of the Atrium Restaurant. It is the only area of the lobby level with wooden floors. It is located between the Court Lounge and Atrium Restaurant.

Gift Shop

The small gift shop adjacent to the front desk on the lobby level offers light beverages and snacks as well as travel size personal hygiene items. The gift shop is to the East of the front desk on the North wall of the lobby area.

Transportation

The hotel does not offer a shuttle; however, there is a taxi stand outside the hotel if you turn left (South) immediately after exiting the hotel. In addition, there is a doorman or concierge available to assist hotel patrons with the taxi stand. The hotel itself is located five blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro station (orange and blue lines) and five blocks from the Dupont Circle Metro station (red line).

Lobby Elevators

There is one main set of three elevators on the South wall of the lobby area that leads to all floors between Lower Lobby 3 and the ninth floor. All three elevators are located in a row on the South wall of the lobby area. In the business wing corridor on the lobby level, there is one additional elevator at the West end of this corridor that only has access to rooms in the business wing. This elevator and the business wing are not being used for conference purposes.

Escalators

If you have your back to any of the three main elevators on the lobby level, the escalator that runs between the lobby and the second floor is on your right (to the East). The ascending and descending escalators that run between the lobby and the second floor are located side by side each other. After stepping off the escalator on the second floor, you will be facing the business center that is located along one of the East walls of the second floor.

Meeting Rooms

The following meeting rooms will be used during the conference:

  • Georgetown I (first floor)
  • West End Ballroom (second floor)
  • Salons F-H (second floor)
  • Thomas and Logan (second floor)
  • Rooms 3015, 3016, and 3017 (third floor)

Georgetown 1

The two meeting rooms on the first floor are called Georgetown I and Georgetown II. Only Georgetown I will be used for conference purposes. With your back to the front desk in the lobby area, the hallway that leads to Georgetown I is the second recessed opening on your left (to the North). Proceed down this second recessed opening going North and Georgetown I will be on the left-hand side (Northwest side) of this short hallway.

Restrooms nearest the Meeting Room (first floor):

If you are facing North at the end of the short corridor that extends from the lobby area and leads to Georgetown I, there is a men's restroom on the left (to the West) and a women's restroom on the right (to the East).

Second Floor Meeting Rooms (West End Ballroom)

If you have your back to any of the three main elevators on the second floor the registration desk is on your left along the West wall of this large open area. The West End Ballroom is located on the North wall. There are five double door entrances to the West End Ballroom that run along an East-West hallway on the North side of the second floor. The West End Ballroom comprises what can be several smaller rooms when dividers are used that are called Ballroom A, Ballroom B, Ballroom C, Ballroom D, and Ballroom E. Braille room names are at head level next to each door on each of the five double door entrances to the West End Ballroom indicating which of the smaller ballrooms that doorway would be for (Ballroom A-E). The westernmost ballroom is Ballroom A and the easternmost ballroom is Ballroom E in this East-West hallway.

If you have your back to the entrance to the West End Ballroom for Ballroom D the restrooms and telephones are located to the South down a corridor directly in front of you, approximately 10 feet to the South from where you would be standing if your back were against the entrance to Ballroom D. The Business Center is located on the East wall past the recessed opening leading to the restrooms and public telephones.

Second Floor Meeting Rooms (Thomas, Dupont, Salons F-H)

With your back to the elevators on the second floor the registration desk is located on your left and the first recessed opening on your left is a hallway that leads to the Logan Room, Thomas Room, and Dupont Ballroom.

The Logan Room is entered through the first room on the South wall of this East-West hallway.

The Thomas Room is entered through the second room on the South wall of this East-West hallway. With your back to the entrance of the Thomas Room, you are facing the North-South hallway. The Dupont Ballroom is located in this North-South hallway.

The Dupont Ballroom contains Salon F, Salon G, and Salon H. There are three double doorway entrances to the Dupont Ballroom. Each of the three entrances is labeled in braille as Salon F, Salon G, or Salon H. Braille room names are at head level next to each door. The southernmost salon is Salon F and the northernmost salon is Salon H.

Restrooms nearest the Meeting Rooms (second floor):

With your back to the elevators on the second floor, go north to the West End Ballroom East-West hallway and turn right. There are three large square pillars. With your back to the East side of the third large square pillar veer slightly to the right as you walk through the recessed opening that leads to the restrooms and public telephones.

On each side of this recessed opening is a planter. The second floor hallway is carpeted except for the tile floor in the corridor that leads to the women's restroom on the east wall of this corridor. The men's restroom is located on the east wall of this corridor as well. The restrooms are located in that sequential order (women's restroom, then men's restroom) as you travel down this recessed opening in this way.

Third Floor Meeting Rooms (Rooms 3015, 3016 & 3017)

On the third floor, there is an elevator waiting area. This area forms a "T" with the intersecting hallway where the third floor meeting rooms are located. With your back to the elevator on the third floor turn left (West). The wooden floor in front of the elevators on the third floor changes to carpet as you enter the North-South hallway with the meeting room. Turn right (North) in the North-South hallway located immediately after you exit the elevator area.

The Madison Room (3015) is entered through the second door on the West wall of this North-South hallway. Continuing North down this North-South hallway there is a fire door immediately North of Room 3015.

The third door after the fire doors on the West side of this North-South hallway is the entrance to the Adams Room (3016).

The Monroe Room (3017) is entered through the fourth door after the fire door on the West side of this North-South hallway.

Dog guide relief

Standing outside of the hotel with your back to the main entrance of the hotel and with the outermost sliding automatic doors immediately behind you, turn right (North) and walk along a cement sidewalk path that runs along the West outside wall of the hotel. The brick driveway for drop-off and pick-up of hotel patrons will be on your left (to the West) as you walk along this sidewalk. You will cross over a carpeted mat for an emergency exit. Continue on North along this sidewalk until you reach a drop-off for the East-West driveway entrance for public and guest parking at the hotel. Cross over this brick driveway entrance and step up back onto the sidewalk still facing North. Continue going North for approximately 10 feet on this sidewalk without crossing any additional intersections. You will find a tree surrounded by approximately five square feet of plants and mulch at ground level. In addition to this first tree, there are two other trees surrounded by five square feet of plants and mulch at ground level. All three of these trees are in a row along the South side of this side street. Approximately 20 feet to the East of this tree is another identical tree surrounded by five square feet of plants and mulch at ground level. Approximately 20 feet East of this second tree is the third and final tree in this row, also surrounded by five square feet of plants and mulch at ground level.

Guest rooms

All guest room hotel floors have the same hallway layout except floors three and seven. Floor three has the pool and health club, conference rooms 3015-3017, and self-serve laundry in addition to guest rooms. Floor seven is the location of the concierge level guest rooms.

On each floor, there is an elevator waiting area. This area forms a "T" with the intersecting hallway where the guest rooms are located. Once the guestroom hallway is located, if one turns to the left, the room numbers go from 40-79 with the odd numbers on the left side of the hallway and the even numbers are on the right side of the hallway. Turning right from the elevator area, rooms 38 to 00 are located with the odd numbers on the right side of the hallway and the even numbers on the left side of the hallway. Braille room numbers are at head level next to each door, but are not consistent on a specific side. Guest room hallways are not completely straight. Guest room hallways turn to the left and right as one travels down the hallway.

There are four different types of rooms: standard king, executive king, accessible king, and a standard double. Suites are also available. Guest rooms vary in style and layout. Every bed has a large wooden headboard with attached reading light that operates with a switch also located on the headboard.

The standard king room has one king bed in the larger portion of the room. Next to it are two end tables. On one side of the bed is the alarm clock and on the other table is the phone. The television is located across the room from the bed. It is on a stand with drawers. Next to the television is a desk and chair. There is a lamp on the desk. The desk is also the location for Internet/Ethernet access. Other features of the room vary but include a closet, sink area, bathroom with sink located in the sink area outside the bathroom, and an additional seating area adjacent to the king bed.

The standard double room has two double beds located along a wall with a small table in between. On this small table are the clock, phone, and an additional lamp. Across from the beds is a television, which is located in between the two beds, on a table with drawers. Next to the television is a desk and chair. There is a lamp on the desk. The desk is also the location for Internet/Ethernet access. The locations of other features of the room vary but include a closet and bathroom with sink located inside the bathroom.
