Fall 2007The American Foundation for the Blind has been around for a long time: 86 years, in fact. We have an expansive history worth remembering and celebrating. However, this issue is not about growing older or reminiscing about our past. It's about youth and the future that lies ahead. Today, we highlight our programs that are for and about children because we are truly an organization for all ages. Children are an important part of our mission, whether we are working to provide Let's Play: A Guide to Toys for Children with Special Needs, creating and updating a fun and creative learning tool such as Braille Bug®, or working with Congress to make sure that legislation is in place to ensure that all children with vision loss get their school books at the same time as their sighted peers. I hope that you enjoy reading the following articles. None of this would be possible without your continued support. And please, pass this information along to others who might find it interesting. We look to you, our friends, to help us get the word out about our programs and resources.
All the best, Fall 2007
