AccessWorld Now Online and Totally FreeIn January 2004, AccessWorld: Technology and People with Visual Impairments was relaunched as a free, web-only magazine. AccessWorld is a bi-monthly publication dedicated to anyone who uses or wants to use assistive technology, provides technology training, has students or clients who use technology, needs to make purchasing decisions, or wants to keep abreast of technological trends and events. With its team of experienced writers and evaluators, AccessWorld is the only publication that seeks to provide people who are blind or visually impaired, the blindness field, the technology community, and anyone else interested in technology with news and objective, reader-friendly product evaluations that foster informed purchasing decisions and intelligent application of technologies. While AccessWorld has always been available online for subscribers, the new, web-based version will be free and offer multiple options for reading and sharing content, including a braille-ready file, a printer-friendly version, and an "e-mail this article to a friend" option. Readers will also enjoy more timely access to cutting edge product evaluations, sophisticated search capabilities, and access to back issues of AccessWorld. Sign up online to be notified via e-mail when a new issue is posted and to receive AccessWorld Extra by e-mail. Visit www.afb.org/aw/main.asp to read more. AFB's web site is also the home of a great deal of educational, informative, and entertaining content—such as the highly acclaimed Braille BugTM site for kids, the searchable Directory of Services for Blind and Visually Impaired Persons in the United States and Canada, the Helen Keller Kids Museum, job listings, and much more. |
