AFB National Literacy Center (NLC)

The AFB National Literacy Center (NLC) in Atlanta, GA, develops and promotes a wide variety of initiatives to address the alarmingly low literacy rate among people who are blind or who have low vision. The NLC leads the blindness field in developing teacher training curriculum, providing up-to-date resources and workshops for professionals, and providing resources on braille, assistive technology, and low vision. NLC programs benefit teachers who work with blind and visually impaired children, rehabilitation specialists who work with adults and seniors, school administrators, parents, and family members of people who are blind or visually impaired.
