AFB National Employment Center (NEC)

The AFB National Employment Center (NEC) in San Francisco, CA, addresses the unacceptably high unemployment rate among people who are blind and visually impaired. Serving as an interface between employers, blind or visually impaired job seekers, and the rehabilitation professionals who serve them, the NEC conducts research, offers workshops, and directs advocacy efforts across the country. The NEC identifies and develops effective models to ease the transition from rehabilitation training to employment, provides help so that individuals losing their vision can retain their jobs, and offers training to employers and service-delivery professionals.
