AFB TECH StaffMark Uslan, Director. Mark has more than 25 years of experience working in the field of vision loss. In the 1990s he helped develop AFB's Product Evaluation Laboratory and AFB's technology journal, AccessWorld®; he has published over 20 journal articles and two books; and he has received several awards from AFB and from industry, including the Pitney Bowes Corporation and the American Public Transit Association. He earned an M.S. in Physiological Optics and a M.Ed. in Education (Orientation and mobility for blind and visually impaired persons). Darren Burton, National Program Associate. Darren has extensive technical and practical experience in product evaluation. His exemplary track record has been established with companies such as Adobe, Apple, AT&T, and Canon, where he quickly became known as a top-notch product evaluator who can quickly home in on critical accessibility issues and offer the most efficient solutions. Darren has a B.A. in Business Administration. Brad Hodges, National Technology Associate. Brad is a nationally recognized expert in the area of home appliance accessibility. He represents the American Foundation for the Blind on the U.S. Access Board's Advisory Committee to revise and update telecommunications and electronic and information technology standards. He also works closely with AFB's Center on Vision Loss in Dallas, Texas, providing technical assistance on the accessibility of mainstream and assistive technology for the Center's Model Home project. He earned a B.S. in Psychology. Lee Huffman, National Technology Associate. Lee has established an impressive track record in the evaluation of video magnification devices, screen magnification software, and mainstream device interfaces for persons with low vision. His numerous product evaluations can be found in AFB's online magazine AccessWorld®. He has also published articles in the Journal of Visual Impairment & Blindness. He works on AFB's project to develop research-based guidelines for the design of small screen displays and presents progress of this work at national and international conferences. Lee has a B.A. in Communications. Morgan Blubaugh and Wes Clements, Marshall University Product Evaluation Interns. Morgan and Wes are Marshall University Yeager Scholars, the university's highest undergraduate merit scholarship. Morgan majors in Economics and Wes majors in Physics. Related Announcements |
