Kitchen and Home Appliances

Setting the dishwasher. Heating up leftovers in the microwave. Drying clothes in the dryer. These are all activities that we take for granted. But what if you can't see the buttons or small-screen display? AFB TECH has evaluated many name-brand home appliances to determine just how accessible they are for people with vision loss. Manufacturers who design appliances that everyone can use find that they can tap into the rapidly growing market of consumers with vision loss.

Descriptions of the accessibility of specific models and our most current research information can be found in the AccessWorld Appliance Accessibility Guide, a frequently updated resource. The remaining published results address important topics and suggest useful alternative techniques and shopping strategies.
