Patient Support Program Director

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Utah, John A. Moran Eye Center is actively seeking a director for the Patient Support Program. This position includes psychosocial and counseling support of patients with visual impairment and blindness. Responsibilities include individual and group counseling for patients with visual impairment/blindness and their families, providing information and referrals, collaborating with community programs and agencies for the blind, providing education for ophthalmology house staff, providing supportive and crisis counseling for department staff as needed. The skills required for this position include: crisis counseling, rehabilitation counseling, group work, teaching, and community education. This is a full-time clinical faculty position in an academic setting. Candidates must be licensed in a counseling field; Ph.D. preferred. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and credentials.
