Are you coping with recent vision loss? If so, be sure to check out the current issue of our sister publication, AccessWorld Magazine, which Recognizes February as Low Vision Awareness Month and Encourages Seniors to Adopt Access Technology. Even if you’re not a senior, you will find plenty of useful information in this special issue. For example, we will take the opportunity to help you answer two of the most common questions asked by the visually impaired: “What is it?” and “Where did it go?”

Here’s just a bit of what we’ll show you:

  • Do you use rubber bands or some other low tech way to mark your prescriptions to make sure you don’t take the wrong medication? If so, you will want to know about the various means to obtain accessible prescriptions using talking prescription bottles.
  • Want to read your mail independently? Consider KNFB Reader, which can read printed text aloud at the press of a smartphone camera button.
  • Need to mark your spice rack, cosmetics, or DVD collection? We’ll describe Envision ELI, a smartphone app that works with adhesive labels to enable you to record messages and then replay them anytime by pointing at a label with that same smartphone.
  • We’ll even show you two ways you can borrow someone else’s eyes for a few minutes.

Sounds too good to be true? Check out "What is it and Where Did it Go?" in the February 2017 issue of AccessWorld.
