Brief Description
APLS/BPH is part of the National Library Service network system and a division within the Alabama Public Library Service, the state library. It provides recreational and basic reference needs in special format materials.
Hours of operation: Mon.-Fri. 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.

- Information and Referral
- Provides information on related organizations and agencies.
- Library Services
- Provides talking books, talking book machines, large-print books, audiocassettes, and braille books for blind and physically handicapped persons.
- Services for Seniors
- Provides recreational and some basic reference materials in special format for those who qualify.
Services for Children
- Information and Referral
- Provides referrals to local, state and national organizations and agencies.
- Library Services
- Offers children's, juvenile and young adult books in braille, print/braille and recorded cassette. Offers Summer Reading Program opportunity.
- Recreation Services
- Offers opportunities for leisure reading.
