Services Offered

Services for Children

  • Assessment
    • Functional vision assessment and transdisciplinary play-based assessment.
  • Community Outreach Programs
    • Has a birth-to-5 outreach program throughout Colorado.
  • Early Intervention/Infant Services
    • The Infant Program is for babies from birth up to two years of age. Parents attend weekly sessions together on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Toddlers and their parents meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:45 AM to 1:30 PM in small groups that also focus on sensory rich opportunities. Activities include music, snack, standing and walking and light room and pre-literacy activities.

      Provides assessments and offers home-based instruction and classroom program for visually impaired infants and children, 0-3 years.
  • Education Services
    • Anchor Center offers infant, toddler, preschool, home visit, family support and outreach programs. We teach the children life skills such as mobility and pre-literacy and prepare them for kindergarten in the public school system.
  • Health
    • Provides referrals for hearing exams or genetic counseling.
  • Preschool Programs
    • The Preschool Program is Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Children attend staggered hours depending on age. The program is designed to meet each child's individual educational needs. The curriculum includes typical preschool activities along with instruction in orientation and mobility, pre-braille and self help skills.
  • Support for Parents
    • Provides support to parents and conducts monthly parent group meetings.

  • Consultation/Technical Program Assistance
    • Provides consultation and assistance in rural areas throughout Colorado and to other programs.
