Brief Description

Services Offered

Services for Adults

  • Daily Living Skills/Independent Living Skills Training
    • Provides living quarters and independent living skills training for adults with disabilities.
  • Employment/Job Training
    • Enables adults with disabilities to be placed on job sites and trained with the aid of a job coach.

Services for Children

  • Assessment
    • Provides consultation and developmental assessments for at-risk babies in hospital neonatal intensive care units across central Arkansas.

      Offers assistive technology assessments for low vision and blindness devices and services.
  • Braille and Reading Instruction
    • Provides supplementary technology instructional support that will support local school district implementation of IDEA or Section 504.
  • Community Outreach Programs
    • Easter Seals Arkansas provides a wide range of outreach programs through 12 different programs that include children with visual impairments.
  • Computer Training/Assistive Technology
    • Offers training in the use of screen readers, braille devices, portable notetakers with and without refreshable braille, magnification, voice recognition, and tactile graphics. Training in general computer use is also offered.
  • Early Intervention/Infant Services
    • Early intervention services, including speech, occupational and physical therapy, developmental therapy and assistive technology supports, are available.
  • Education Services
    • Training in assistive technology and accessible information technology and professional development offered for staff and families working with students who are visually impaired.
  • Employment/Job Training
    • Supported employment, sheltered work, and adult activity center program offered to adults through the Divison of Rehabilitation Services and the Division of Disability Services.
  • Information and Referral
    • Information and referral services provided for families.
  • Preschool Programs
    • A Child's Place Pre-school provides an integrated preschool environment for children through age 5. Occupational, physical, and speech therapy can also be provided.
  • Recreation Services
    • Offers overnight summer camping programs for children with disabilities.
