Brief Description

The Foundation Fighting Blindness (Canada) supports research and public awareness about retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration, and related retinal eye diseases. FFB has funded over 19 million in research into the causes, treatments, and ultimately the cures for retinal eye diseases. Funds are raised from private donors as well as our signature fundraising events (www.comicvision.ca, www.cycleforsight.ca, and www.rideforsight.com) many of which are organized by volunteer committees of people living with retinal eye diseases along with their families. FFB's annual Vision Quest conferences connect our community with Canadian scientists to learn about the latest research discoveries, as well as meet each other, hear from others living with retinal eye diseases, and share healthy lifestyle tips, accommodation strategies, adaptive technologies, and more. Conferences are organized into age-related macular degeneration (AMD) sessions and Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) and related retinal eye disease sessions. Visit www.ffb.ca or call 1.800.461.3331 (toll-free in Canada) for this year's conference details and to register.

Hours of operation: Monday - Friday 9 AM-5 PM
Geographic area served: Canada.
Publications: Research Fact Sheets, Eye Condition Descriptions, Age-Related Macular Degeneration awareness kits, Your Guide to Retinitis Pigmentosa, Vision Research e-newsletter, newsletter, and more. Available at www.ffb.ca.
