The Kentucky Instructional Materials Resource Center (KIMRC) provides textbooks in braille and large print and other educational materials needed by students who are blind and visually impaired for use in local school programs. The resource center also conducts an annual registration of students who are blind and visually impaired in Kentucky.

Services for Children
- Community Outreach Programs
- A Statewide Educational Center on Blindness, KSB provides a variety of information and technical assistance to improve the understanding and needs of individual who are blind or visually impaired. Presentations to groups, exhibits or demonstrations can be arranged through KSB Outreach Services.
- Education Services
- Placement through the ARC process in a full-time Centerbased Educational Program (K-12) on the Louisville campus provides students requirements meeting Kentucky's Program of Studies & Core Content while addressing the unique learning needs associated with a vision loss. Specialized Short Course programs provide opportunities for intensive two-to-twelve weeks experiences during the school year. Short Course allows students to remain enrolled in their home school district and are designed to improve skills in the area of Braille, Orientation & Mobility, Computer, and Assistive Technology, Low Vision, Transition, and Study Skills.

- As the Statewide Educational Resource Center on Blindness KSB maintains up-to-date information on products, services, information and agencies dedicated to individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
