Brief Description

We provide free loan of public library type books in a non-print format to anyone who is unable to use regular print material. We are the NLS Regional Library for the Blind for the State of Arkansas.

Hours of operation: Mon.-Fri. 8:00AM - 4:30 PM.

Services Offered

Services for Adults

  • Library Services
    • Provides free loan of talking books in digital audio, braille, and audio cassette format. Provides free loan of talking book players and some adaptive equipment necessary for use of the players. All materials are mailed to patrons on free loan and may be returned postage free by turning over the mail-card. Over 60,000 digital audio books are also available for free download to registered users with an approved compatible player.
  • Services for Seniors
    • We provide public library type books in a non-print format to anyone who cannot use regular print books.Anyone who cannot cannot see well enough to read regular print, even with glasses, anyone who would have difficulty physically holding a book or turning it's pages,anyone confined to bed with a long term illness or weakness or with limited use of a hand or arm, etc.

Services for Children

  • Library Services
    • Provides public library type books and magazines in recorded or braille format to children from preK to 18, who are unable to use regular print material. Offers free download of children's books in braille or audio through the BARD online program. Conducts an annual summer reading program.
  • Recreation Services
    • Provides reading materials in braille and on cassette.
