Services Offered

Services for Children

  • Community Outreach Programs
    • Identifies all children and youths who are or at risk of being deaf-blind.
  • Counseling
    • Assists service providers and families in preparing students who are deafblind for quality lives in their communities.
  • Early Intervention/Infant Services
    • Offers early intervention services.
  • Education Services
    • Oversees all programs and services to children with disabilities in Oregon 5-21. This includes the following basic mandates under federal law:
      • Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE)
      • Least Restrictive Environment
      • Appropriate Evaluation
      • Individualized Education Program- Accountability
      • Parent and Student Participation in Decision-Making
      • Procedural Safeguards
      • Monitoring, Technical Assistance, and Enforcement
  • Preschool Programs
    • Offers home-based programs and consultant services for preschool visually impaired/multiply impaired infants and toddlers.

Services for Professionals

  • Consultation/Technical Program Assistance
    • Provides technical assistance in support of mandated early intervention and special education services to children and youth who are deaf-blind from birth through age 21.
