Services for Adults

  • Community Outreach Programs
    • Performs screenings throughout state.
  • Information and Referral
    • Distributes brochures about eye disease. Low vision resource guide includes all resources available to state residents.

Services for Children

  • Assessment
    • The Healthy Eyes for Kids program provides vision screening and referrals for preschool children to help prevent permanent vision loss and learning difficulties.

      HEA facilitates Sight for Students, a program sponsored by Vision Service Plan, the nation’s oldest vision care plan. We work with school nurses and other health care providers to identify and provide vouchers for vision care for uninsured school-age children up to age 18 in need of eye examinationss, eyeglasses, or other vision services.

      Using the latest technology, the Welch Allyn SureSight Vision Screener 14000, HEA aims to catch potentially permanent eye problems in preschoolers and get them to a professional for a complete examination before it’s too late.
