Subregional Library.

Hours of operation: Mon.-Fri. 9:00 AM-5:00 PM.
Staff description: 1 full-time coordinator, 1 part-time supervisor, 1 part-time volunteer.
Geographic area served: Cabell, Mason, Mingo, Putnam, and Wayne Counties.

Services Offered

Services for Adults

  • Information and Referral
    • Has five full-time staff members in a 3-state-area Information and Referral Department.
  • Library Services
    • Provides talking books, large-print books,digital cartridges and audiocassettes for blind and physically handicapped persons. Provides talking book cassette and digital cartridges, low vision aids, and reference materials for people over the age of 55.
  • Reading Services
    • Offers Newsline, which allows persons to listen to text of four newspapers.

Services for Children

  • Library Services
    • Talking Books offers services that are numerous and indispensable. Recorded books on a digital flash drive are the most requested services. These digital books require a special easy to use digital player which is provided. Cassette books and the special 4-track cassette player used to enjoy them are also available. There are more than 20,000 titles housed in the downtown library including bestsellers, cookbooks, westerns, mysteries, romance, sci- fi, fantasy, contemporary fiction and non-fiction, children's books, and the Bible.
