Brief Description

The mission of South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind is to employ, educate, and empower people who are blind or visually impaired. It provides employment opportunities in administration, retail and manufacturing, and rehabilitation training that includes orientation and mobility training, adaptive technology/computer (including basic keyboarding, Windows, Zoomtext, JAWS, MSWord, etc.) classes, and braille classes.

Hours of operation: Mon.-Fri. 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Geographic area served: South Texas coastal area, from Victoria to Corpus Christi to the Texas-Mexico border

Services for Adults

  • Employment/Job Training
    • Offers on-the-job training (for production assemblers) and sheltered workshop employment. Manufactures three-ring binders, corrugated mail trays, and candles. Employment opportunities are offered in administration and retail services (experience required; contact for details).
