Brief Description

The Paws for Patriots Progam provides guide dogs to blinded soldiers and places therapy dogs at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. The program also places companion and therapy dogs with soldiers.

Member of the International Guide Dog Federation.

Hours of operation: Mon.-Fri. 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.

  • Dog Guide Training
    • Guide Dogs for the visually impaired, Veteran Service Dogs for Veterans that have been diagnosed with service-related Post Traumatic Stress, Canine Connections dogs for children 10-17 that are legally blind or will become legally blind as an adult.

Services for Children

  • Travel/Orientation and Mobility
    • Provide companion dogs for children 10-17 that are legally blind or will become legally blind as adults.
