Brief Description

The Radio Information Service of public radio station WCBU 89.9 at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, reads local newspapers, magazines and store fliers over a sub-carrier channel to listeners who are blind, visually impaired or otherwise print-handicapped. The service and the receivers are supplied free to patrons who require such service.

Hours of operation: Local Mon.-Fri. 11:00 AM-8:00 PM. Gatewave Service all other times.

Staff description: 50 volunteers do reading and recording; one paid staff director.
