Series 1: General Correspondence
1887 - 1989

Series 1 contains correspondence, memoranda, legal and financial documents, itineraries, media scripts, and other documents relating to Helen Keller's personal and public life, from her childhood in Tuscumbia, Alabama in the 1880s to her travels around the globe in the 1950s. Series 1 is divided into seven subseries: Legal and administrative, Advocacy and work, Individuals, Media and entertainment, Commemorations, Select subjects, General public and organizations. Each subseries is described individually.
