Expanding possibilities for people with vision loss

hi there.

Hey everyone. I'm a senior in high school, and I got an assignment to do a paper on visual impairment. while writing it, i came across this web site and thought to myself that it would be a really great experience to talk to someone who has visual impairment, to get a different perspective. well, i'm 18 and live in Europe, love music and long conversations about anything. so, if anyone wants to chat or whatever, it would be really cool :)
ps. sorry if my english sucks. :)

Hello, you're english doesn't suck lol. I would love to help in any way I can with your report. I am totally blind but I wasn't born that way. I also have a website you may or may not be interested in. I think the fact that you want to talk to blind people first hand is a great idea and a wonderful thing. I will leave my info below.

Re:hi there.

Hello,

I am totally blind and a college graduate. What is your paper about specifically? What do you want to know about visual impairments?
I am willing to answer any questions. I hope to be certified to teach high school Spanish and ESL once I have finished my exams. So ask away about either topic. Not much offends me. Don't worry.

Re:hi there.

i was a sportsdancer myself. latin dances. loved it, but my partner broke his leg, so we stopped dancing, never found another one which could dance so great. what kind of teacher? i mean, what subject are you interested in? and about the cooking, i burn myself and spill things all the time, and there's nothing wrong with my vision, so you shouldn't feel bad :)

Re:hi there.

well as for hobbies i love music! and i dance even though im legally blind, which alot of people find hard to believe but i do, its my passion :) i did dance team all thru high school and now im a freshmen in college and am taking dance classes while my major is education to be a teacher. i also love writing. cooking is hard for me because i have extremly poor depth perception so i burn myself on the oven sometimes and i cant see measuring cups like for baking things such as cake or pie and things. i cant drive either which is rough, but there are tons of things we can do just like fully sighted pple can but some things are harder than others.

Re:hi there.

hey. tnx for responding :)
i like all sorts of music, especially old school rock, blues, alternative..
well, nothing in particular, just everyday things.. my paper made me realize that there are many things that sighted people think visually impaired can't do, so i was just wondering about your everyday things, hobbies...
