American Foundation for the Blind's (AFB) Helen Keller Achievement Awards Dinner Dance.

New York Marriott Marquis, 1535 Broadway (Times Square).

When:
Thursday, May 5th, Reception 6:30 p.m., Dinner 7:30 p.m.; Tickets range from $600 to $2,500.

Why:
The Helen Keller Achievement Awards were established by AFB in 1994 to acknowledge Keller's extraordinary accomplishments and promote the notable achievements of individuals and organizations that have improved the quality of life for people who have vision loss.

Who:
Award Recipients: Merrill Lynch and Co., Inc., Gregory J. Fleming, President, Global Markets & Investment Banking, Helen Keller Achievement Award in Employment; National Financial Partners, Jessica Bibliowicz, President and CEO, Helen Keller Achievement Award in Accessibility; and CBS News 6O Minutes Correspondent Dan Rather will present The Blind Boys of Alabama, Recording Artists, with the Personal Achievement Award.
