L'Occitane Continues Support for People who are Blind and Visually Impaired

Limited edition candle to benefit AFB

September 8, 2004 (New York)—During the month of September, L'Occitane will sell a limited edition Apple Puree candle with 20 percent of its sales benefiting the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB). Each candle purchase includes a complimentary braille bracelet. The proceeds will help AFB to eliminate the inequities faced by the 10 million Americans who are blind and visually impaired.

This is the second year in a row that L'Occitane and AFB have offered this September promotion and continues a partnership between the organizations. "L'Occitane is a long time supporter of AFB and we are honored to once again be the beneficiaries of their commitment to helping promote equality and accessibility for people who are blind and visually impaired," said Carl R. Augusto, AFB President and CEO.

In 2000, L'Occitane received an Access Award from AFB for their efforts to make its products accessible to people who are blind and visually impaired through braille labeling. Braille labeling on products like L'Occitane's candles is another example of the company's commitment to serve all their customers equally.

The Apple Puree candle can be purchased beginning September 1 at all L'Occitane boutiques, usa.loccitane.com or by calling 1-888-623-2880.
