Assistive Technology Needs in Public Libraries: A SurveyAbstract: The aims of this survey of 4,939 clients of the Utah State Library for the Blind and Disabled were to determine who would use assistive technology (AT) in their public libraries, to profile factors influencing its use, and to evaluate the level of awareness of available services. Less than a quarter of the participants reported that AT was available in their public libraries, and a higher proportion of younger than older people would use it if it were available.
