Maternal Directives to Young Children Who Are BlindAbstract: The results of a detailed analysis of how mothers direct attention and play with their blind and sighted 18-month-old children found that the mothers of the blind children were no more directive than were the mothers of the sighted children, but that they made some use of directives that were particular to the needs of young blind children.
