Practice Report: A Group Intervention for Visually Impaired Grandparents

Many older adults with visual impairments (that is, blindness or low vision) experience losses in their daily functioning. Locating and reinforcing their potential strengths may help to enhance their self-image and sense of self-worth. A potential source of strength for older people who are visually impaired is the grandparenting role. Within a theoretical framework, this article describes a practice intervention with a group of grandparents who are visually impaired.
