Play and Recreation Habits of Youths Who Are Deaf-Blind


Abstract: This study analyzed the current recreational practices and the barriers faced by 54 youths who are deaf-blind. The most common recreational activities were swimming, swinging, walking, climbing, and biking, and the greatest perceived barriers were the disability itself, lack of knowledge, lack of programming, lack of staff, and inadequate communication.
