Looking for answers.. Infant born with clouding of cornea, gray tint to the white of eyes.

On 12/13/10 I gave birth to my son, he was 3-5 weeks premature (I never got a set due date weird I know) his eyes were completely clouded over, so much that you couldn't see the pupil. The day we left the hospital we were sent to the optamologist. We've since seen her three times, and his eyes are Slowly clearing up..
But each time we see her she says the same thing "slowly getting better", and when I asked her if his eyes looked normal she replied "i wouldn't exactly say normal"
I would like to know if any one has ever herd of this or has any information. We haven't gotten any from the doctor. Thank you so much

Posted by rachel N on 9/2/2011 at 11:10 AMseeing another doctor might be nice but this won't stop her development at all, really. think mum found my eyes clouded over too after a few days but mine never cleard up or anything. so, maybe it's cataracts? not sure. because as far as I know mine never cleared up until they fixed it for a bit. haha!

We sought out another dr. His name is Dr.gary Gitschlag he is amazing and has been wonderful in conners treatment. Conner is now 22 months with little to no clouding but he is far sighted. The cause was pressure on the corneas and once the pressure relieved his eyes slowly cleared. He is far sighted from the clouding but will clear and change as he gets older he is not blind as we were told. Thank you all for your replies and if you are ever in TN looking for a Peaditric Optamologist DR. Gary Gitschlag is fantastic and has helped us so much! Thank you all for your replies!
