Black dot floating around my eye

I keep seeing a black dot in my vision. it looks like it's inside my eye. It goes away sometimes, but mostly it's there. It's really annoying, and distracting. What is it? Is it dangerous? Should I go to a doctor?

It sounds like floaters. When you move your eyes or turn suddenly, do they drift away?

Depending on a variety of factors, it could be harmless, or it could be a precursor to an eye condition. Ask your doctor about it.
