Scanners: can they read hand written letters?

Is a scanner like the ScannaR able to read hand written letters as well as typed text? If so, does the handwriting have to be print as opposed to cursive?

Posted by athenaroumelis on 10/3/2005 at 9:48 PMHey! I hope I'm not too late....my Kurtzweil reader can read neatly print handwritten letters. If they are too messy it can't read them, but if it's neat it just takes a while for it to decipher. It can't read cursive though. Only regular printed print. hope this helps
