Services for the blind
Posted by lovetllr33 on 2/9/2012 at 12:50 PM
I NEED HELP. I JUST MOVED TO NORTH CAROLINA WITH MY 11 YEAR OLD BLIND DAUGHTER WHO ALSO HAS CP. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED AND READY TO MOVE. I CAN NOT FIND ANY SERVICES FOR HER OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL. NO ONE WILLING TO PROVIDE HER WITH A CCTV OR ANYTHING FOR HOME USE, NO SIDEWALKS HERE. THIS IS A BAD PLACE FOR THE BLIND. SO I AM ASKING WHAT IS THE BEST STATE TO LIVE IN IF YOU HAVE A CHILD WHO IS BLIND? WHAT STATE PROVIDES THE MOST SERVICES OR HAS THE MOST? I WANT THE BEST FOR MY DAUGHTER SO I AM WILLING TO GO TO THE BEST PLACE FOR HER. SHE NEEDS ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL.

support group
Posted by Leoni27 on 6/10/2012 at 12:26 PMi recently worked with a partially sighted person. i really enjoyed working with her, and now id like to run a support group for young people who are blind or partially sighted. i was wondering if you could give me any feedback on support groups you have been to, and activities you've done that you would recommend. also, are there specific things you would not like in a support group? thank you!
