need help with rapid declining vision

My mother lives in Pinellas County Florida (Clearwater area) and was recently diagnosed with a visual variant of Alsheimer's Disease. She is progressively losing her vision and the ability to process what she is looking at. Is anyone familiar with this condition? Is any one aware of a low vision doctor in that area? Any other suggestion for how to begin coping with this at age 78? Thanks

Perhaps if you could give us the medical name of your mother's disease we could be of help. It sounds like it could either be macular degeneration or just rapid blindness

Re:need help with rapid declining vision

I don't know if you received the services for your mother but I wanted to give you the number of the Low Vision Clinic in Palm Harbor: 727-789-0199

Re: need help with rapid declining vision

Contact your local blind center, bureau of services to the blind or low vision center for help.
