Hey there, finally conversation gets started.
I posted on your posts, I think that if you have tried therapy for your depression and it hasn't worked then you definitely need to find a different solution. Have you tried medication like antidepressants or antianxiety pills like Lexapro or Zannax? Have you tried a combo of therapy and medication?
Also, if you can, can you describe some of your symptoms of depression just so that I can get a better grasp of what you are talking about.

Yes, I am on therapy and medication right now. My smyptoms of depression are horrible anxiety attacks, loss of appetite, loss of interest, severe sadness, suicidal attempts, and sleeping problems. And I have already been to a mental hospital, and talked to my family about this. And with the amusement parks, I have nightmares every night, and every day somebody always tells me about a new accident that has happened at a theme park. So yeah, that is my situation right now. Do you think that you could help me.

As far as helping you, I am just a student and not a professional by any means. What I can do for you is support you and empathize, I have had symptoms of sadness, loneliness, worthlessness, and other symptoms that hav to do with major depression. i can tell you that working on these feelings is important, staying on your medication is important as well if therapy alone is not working.
I also want to know who is repeatedly telling you these horror stories about the amusement parks? If they know you have a fobia, why do they continue to taunt you with these stories? I think that is insensitive and I don't mean to put anyone down but I think it's rude to feed in to someone's fears like that. You don't drop someone in a pool who is afraid to swim.
Keep writing, talk about anything at all, sometimes thinking of other topics and conversations will help you make your day a bit brighter. I know that when I have lots of social interaction I feel much better and that makes my day better and my feelings of sadness a little less powerful.

Well here's part of your problem, stop looking at that site. and ask your family to stop telling you these stories, it's not mentally healthy to keep putting yourself back in to those situations of fear. I am totally blind as well as you are so i can see how hard it is to try and make long-lasting friendships. Anything you want to talk about is fine, as long as it is safe and appropriate for everyone.

Hello Sarah, If you associate positive thoughts with roller coasters and look at statistics that say they are safe more often than not then it might be easier to think about them. I agree with mimi, just don't deal with the negative stories and or sites if they give you problems. Have you talked to your doctor about over coming fears? I know for me, I'm afraid of hights and flying, but I still fly regularly even recently when the pilot made the announcement that the plane had been having mechanical problems, and it scared me, but I just had to make myself relax and after a few minutes of thinking about other stuff, it was off my mind. By the way, how often do you ride roller coasters? Or you could start with simple non full strength rides and work your way up. I know the worse ride I've ever been on is the tilta wirl. But I mean, maybe start on like Disneyland rides that don't do a whole lot and move up slowly when you are comfortable.

Also, if you are still having issues and have been with the same psychologist for a while, you might want to look into another one and maybe some other treatment methods with another one.

But I'm not a professional, and am just giving my own personal advice, but a professional would better for what to actually do.

Don't go! I have been to Disneyland a lot of times before this happened. I tried it again, and I freak out and I cry just if I hear a scream at an amusement park. It is very scary just thinking about you going to Disneyland. Oh and by the way, my family knows about my phobia, and they said that they just won't tell me what amusement park we are going to, and when we go, they will just either trick me on rides, or force me on them. I am so scared right now! And I have talked to my doctor and there is nothing he can really do. I just found out that I am going to Six Flags Magic Mountain on April 23. My mom said that the first ride that we will go to is X2. And she said that I am riding it! It has fire on it, they use flamethrowers, it has loops, and a vertical drop! It is a combination between a roller coaster and the Zipper!

Hello, Aiming, I live with my aunt and uncle right now, but I see my mom every day. But since I got my horse, I haven't been to a theme park in a while. Before I moved in with my aunt and uncle I didn't go to amusement parks that often. But since I live with them, I have been going at least once every 2 months. I haven't been this month because I had to pay for my horse. I miss living with my mom but living might be better, and it gives me a way better chance of getting a guide dog. Talk to you soon!

Yes, that is part of the reason because I couldn't have a horse at my mom's house, she has too many dogs. The reason why I moved in with my aunt and uncle is because my mom got shingles and couldn't take care of me anymore becaus she was so sick that she almost died.

sarah, sorry to hear about your guide dog not working out, depression can affect a lot of aspects of your life unfortunately. And to answer your question about what is Padre Island, it is a place in Texas that is pretty much surrounded by beaches and you can have a great time.

It's just not as good as the braille note. You have a USB port on a Braille Note but not on a Pacmate, And you can actually play Z5 games on a Braille Note.

I play Z5 games all the time. I heard that on a Packmate that you can instant message and use it like a phone. On my braillenote I can't even do email.

My depression started when I was in middle school. It was terrible. First, one of my friends died of muscular distriffy, then my dogs killed my favorite cat, then right after that happened, I got sick of going to school, and I had my teacher cuss me me out in front of my friends. I have had it really rough. You can ask me anz question you want, I don't mind at all.

Oh yeah, and my sister, the one who's lap bar came up on Goliath, she disowned me, because a whole bunch of drama went down, and her abusive husband made her hate me and the rest of her family. So now, we are having a huge fight, and she said that I am no longer welcome in her house, she cussed me out, and she said that she is don with the family, and this all happened today, so now I'm really depressed.

Oh gosh yes i had a blast!!!! I am over 21 so I got to really experience the night life, go to many clubs including one where Usher and p. diddy and all the stars throw their parties. I got in to the VIP at that one but there was no one big there that night.
I also got to spend some time on the beach, shop and eat lots of yummy cuban food and hang out all over the town.
I also met a really sweet guy who was a friend of my brother's. I may be leaving california next year to live there.
