Re:Writing and reading in braille
Posted by BroadwayBaby310 on 8/27/2009 at 8:33 PMI am a sightie, but I have recently become more interested in braille, because my boyfriend is blind. He reads and writes in braille all the time (I think he came in 3rd in the national Braille Challenge if I have my facts straight-- I know he's gone several times). Anyways, I was going to say that I personally can write grade 1 braille, and can read playing cards, but little else except by sight

Re:Writing and reading in braille
Posted by ROCKSTAR! on 8/30/2009 at 5:18 PMI started learning in the fourth grade, and one of the braille teachers at my school was a perfectionist and didn't allow herself to make mistakes, and she past that along to students cause we would get lectured if we made an easy mistake or erased a dot.
