Re:Writing and reading in braille

I started learning braille at three years old and have even taught it to sighted people and was assistant instructor for my classmates at the orientation center for the blind wasn't i rockstar?

Re:Writing and reading in braille

I learned it in the first grade. Can read and write contracted Braille, that's all I read is contracted Braille, I hate trying to read grade 1 Braille, it's like a different language, and I can kind of write Math Braille.

Re:Writing and reading in braille

I learned brailla in the first grade.

Re:Writing and reading in braille

I started learning in the fourth grade, and one of the braille teachers at my school was a perfectionist and didn't allow herself to make mistakes, and she past that along to students cause we would get lectured if we made an easy mistake or erased a dot.

Re:Writing and reading in braille

How long have you been reading braille? Braille?

Re:Writing and reading in braille

I hate writing braille because I mess up too much. It is fun on the internet, I just don't like doing essays in school.

Re:Writing and reading in braille

cool

Re:Writing and reading in braille

I am a sightie, but I have recently become more interested in braille, because my boyfriend is blind. He reads and writes in braille all the time (I think he came in 3rd in the national Braille Challenge if I have my facts straight-- I know he's gone several times). Anyways, I was going to say that I personally can write grade 1 braille, and can read playing cards, but little else except by sight

Re:Writing and reading in braille

Yeah I've gotten first like five times myself. It's no offense.

Re:Writing and reading in braille

I got first place at a braille challenge! Why would any of us be afended?

Re:Writing and reading in braille

You should enter, they are fun.

Re:Writing and reading in braille

If I ever got a chance to enter one of those competitions, I would for sure win!

Re:Writing and reading in braille

Me too. i've won state and national braille reading and writing competitions.

Re:Writing and reading in braille

I read, write, and talk braille. I'm getting good at writing math in braille super fast.

Re:Writing and reading in braille

I'm a braille expert. I read, and write braille every day. I feel like I'm the only one who does. Don't worry, it won't offend anyone.
