Does anyone play goalball? I have heard of it but am unsure...

No, but I don't have any interest in that kind of stuff anyways. I rather do the regular stuff such as normal everyday sports.

Yes, I have played goal ball. It's not my favorite sport, but I enjoy it. I just started learning in Gym class. My gym teacher went to the Perkins School for the blind, and learned how to teach blind people. I went to a si festival last weekend, and played it with other kids my age.

I've only seen videos of it but i have seen the rules.
I've been trying to talk my gym teacher into teaching the class the only issue is the curriculum;and theirs nowhere in my area to play it other than at Governor Morhead's but they did build a new beep-ball field I'm hoping that if my back gets better i could join the team.
Which while i wait on that if i get in good enough shape by next semester I'm planning to do tandem Cross-country.

You can play goalball in any gym really. You do not have to have the big goals. You can use painters tape and rope to make the raised lines on the floor. If you have people to spot or referee the games, you can get away with not having the goals. It is pretty simple to set up after you have done it a few times. I played for one of the teams in Florida (adult teams).

You will need to measure and cut the ropes prior. You don't have to do do the whole court, just what is necessary. You will need 2 front lines (width of the court), 4 ropes that can keep the sideline from each front line back to the goal (10 or 12 (I think 10) feet each, I believe, but it has been a while), 4 wing lines which are 4' 6". You may want to mark the long ball lines, goal lines, and the upper part of the sidelines in the beginning. The painters tape comes up pretty easy and doesn't stick as well, but doesn't leave marks. This all takes practice to put down, but becomes second nature. We used to play just in a local recreation gymnasium. It is on a basketball court and just a little bigger then a volleyball court's lines, not much bigger though. You can use the foul lines on the basketball court to mark your fontlines. You will need spotters to tell if they are goals and help with the game, but it is a lot of fun.

i luv gull ball!!!!!!! i used to hate it when i was little cuz i always gt hit with the ball. then like a couple years ago we played it at a parilimpic night nd i actually liked it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i did awesome nd it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its one of those sports wear if u suck u prob wont like it but if ur awesome u will like. ive play it when they hav it at parilimpic night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im really competetive nd i keep my guard. no one cn gt past me. however my fave sport is beeper ball. i kinda suck but its still fun.

I can't stant goalball. It hurts my knees.
