Hello! My last post got deleted where i was looking for friends to talk to, so i was just rewriting it so i could talk to some of the people that had answered me and others!!!

I am sure that your parents are just trying to look out for you by not allowing you to use Skype. There is a lot of people misrepresenting themselves on it (as with many internet sites, forums, services, or social networking sites). You have to be cautious when using the internet, as you would be traveling in the community on your own. People can easily misrepresent themselves. But, with the negatives comes some positives. I hope you all continue to be safe! Enjoy your week!

Posted by Windows 7 on 5/10/2010 at 2:35 PMbut you know, there is a blocking feature on skype though. if that person is harassing you, or just bugging you, and you feel ashamed of your self for giving your skype username on here, you can block that person from calling you, or instant messaging you.

For some of our young users, they may not be as quick to grasp that they are being taken advantage of by certain persons. (Not saying that you wouldn't know nor others specifically, but some may. We have youth of all ages and skills on here. Some may not be as well versed at utilizing Skype or any other site). I am looking out for the best interests of whole.
I really do appreciate that you were trying to look out for me. You are setting a positive example by doing so. You, Kevin, and others give good advice on technology (of course other topics as well) to our users. I know they appreciate it and so do I. Thank you!
