Posted by Windows7 on 5/31/2010 at 8:18 PMThe only thing I have to say is that at least i'm not in a school internet. god that will be even more borring. I mean, think about it. So many blocks on fun sites. And at school, y're always being monitered what you do on the computer, they moniter what you type, that means they can see your passwords, I, changed all of my usernames and passwords for all my OnLine acounts When I got home. so, no more logging into my acounts at school. go ahead, comment on this. say that I'm dum, but oh well, it's my decisions. I am trying as best as i can to keep my passwords as safe as I can.

Re:i'm so
Posted by Joe S on 6/4/2010 at 12:45 PMI am sorry that you are depressed, I hope you feel better! As school comes to a close for the regular year, what are all of you planning for the summer? I hope something fun, educational, experiencial, and substancial. If not, enjoy it and make the best of your free time. Life is short and live it up!

Re:i'm so
Posted by Joe S on 6/4/2010 at 3:03 PMThat sounds tough and lonely. Are there any organizations in your area that you can get involved in? Like community garden programs, like where they improve empty lots or places like that. Are there any clubs through local recreation centers, schools, organizations, religious groups, and such? You should check out your local news paper or TV station's website. They probably have community calendars and such.
A lot of museums and such do classes like sculpture and such. What about getting involved in the local community theatre? There are probably service organizations that you can volunteer with. I bet that you could do some computer work for a local organization. You volunteer with Red Cross or many other charities. This would get you out and doing something, probably meet some more people that way. A lot of these organization would have lists of people to call to follow up on things. You could easily do that. Most lists would be electronic and would involve calling people.
I would contact these charities or organizations in your area. Maybe there is one of more interest to you.
Hope this helps or offers some new ideas.
Sincerely,
Joe S.

Re:i'm so
Posted by Joe S on 6/6/2010 at 5:51 PMHmmm... (thinking), Sarah,
Let me think about it a bit, but I know some of these organizations would take volunteers virtually as well. It wouldn't be the same experience, but it would add to your resume and experience. This could involve stuffing envelopes, making phone calls, sending emails, and so on. You are definitely computer literate, I would think that organizations would love to have a volunteer such as yourself. Even organizations that are at a state or national level.
Would take you writing up a basic resume and a cover letter talking about how you would like to get involved. It would state that you feel that you could be an asset to the organization, even while working from your home. I bet you would get a response from these organization. You state you would like to volunteer and do it from your home. You are visually impaired and explain tasks that you could do for them.
Worth a try? Maybe, just something to think about it. Have a great week!!!
Sincerely,
Joe S.
