I hope this will inspire/motivate people

Hi,

Many of us are told that we can't accomplish as much as sighted people, or do the same things they do. This really used to upset me when I was younger. Although I attended a school for the blind and had a lot of encouragement from teachers, I used to always get the "She's blind, helpless" thinkg from other people. So I know what it can do to oone's self-esteem.

I'm now 26, can speak 7 languages and I started an NGO to help other people with disabilities and especially to set an example for them. Above all, I work in.....Vietnam, a place many f my visually impaired friends wouldn't dare travel to alone. This is why I'm writing to all of you.

4 years ago, I was surfing the web when I came across Braille Without Borders, an organisation created by a totally blind German lady and her husband. At age 26, she went to Tibet to intorduce the new braille system she had invented. She ended up starting the first school for the blind in Tibet and now also runs a training center in Kerala, India, where blind and visually impaired people are taught to start NGOs of their own. I was so inspired and impressed by this. i hadn't believed anything like this was possible. Little did I know how things would turn out.

Everything is possible, don't let anyone stop you. I haad to face many challlenges when I came to Vietnam, I had no assistive technology, I had to learn new skills like washing clothes by hand and eating rice with chopsticks. But i did it. I want to inspire people and help them to realise their goals. It does take courage and knowing yourself as a person and what your limits are, but you can do almost anything you put your minds to.

This sounds great! Yeah I hate it when people tell me that I cant do as much as sighted. they told me that i cant use my computer, that I shouldn't get one, well, I have a screen reader that reads my screen. NVDA, and i have Jaws.

Hello, there i think what you have accomplished is amazing! and i know about the German lady i saw her on a movie and i thought what she did was amazing and i have heard the same thing from many people but i don't or at least try knot to let it bother me!!

wow thts sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ur stories imspiration!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i totally agree with u cuz ive discovered lots bout wat i cn do as well!!!!!! im pretty good with computers. i used to not b good at them but now im like tech queen!!!!!!!!!!! ma says its soooooooooooooo shocking cuz i used to liturelly b afraid of technoligy. my dad calls me a tech geek. my spelling still isnt good haha. my fam makes fun of my spelling haha. however u dnt let anything stop u. thts amazing!!!!!!!!! dnt stop inspiring ppl with ur story cuz its amazing!!!!!! sooooooooooo many ppl cn benifit from ur experience!!!!!!!

Hullo, really your information is marvellous, I would wish to know about the life of a blind person, well they can not see with their eyes but they see beyond we can not see of.
