Posted by Chlorine17 on 7/29/2010 at 7:42 PMhi there. i know wat its like 2 be completely adicted 2 something. mine is very very different from urs and i know i dont follow my own advice. 4 u, i'd suggest getting rid of the gaming consol and i know it may sound silly 2 u, but there are outpatient & inpatient treatment centers 4 videogame and computer adictions. like i said, mine is quite different. i need 2 cut myself or things all just start coming down on me and i fall apart, but the principle of adiction is the same. if u need anything let me know, fatalsunset23@gmail.com, ok?

Posted by Joe S on 8/18/2010 at 2:50 PMHello guys,
I really think you all need to be careful. Drinking and drugs can cause permanent issues physically and mentally that will make your lives much more difficult. Alcohol is a depressant and abusing these substances when depressed or not depressed has led to bad endings for many. It is not advised that you participate in these types of activities. It is understandable that peers may offer you these substances, but part of life is learning to be your own person. Being willing to say no and walk away.
These substances are illegal for persons under the age of 21 (alcohol) and drugs are just illegal. These are things that could end up following you for the rest of your life. I really would suggest you do some research and think about your decisions.
Many persons have a genetic link to being prone to addiction and this can start at anytime. These decisions could alter your path, just another thought.
Whole other issue is that you are posting this information online, some of you have posted your names in the past as well. You don't want the mistakes that you make in your teenage years to follow you later on. Please think about your choices and I hope you choose to pass the next time these substances are offered to you.
Sincerely,
Joe S.

Re:my adiction
Posted by Joe S on 8/19/2010 at 9:25 AMThat is tough, a great friend of mine has been battling that for years. His wife and a good friend mine as well, left him because he gambled away their savings. He has found himself in many bad situations due to this addiction. I know others as well. There are many addictions out there and people prone to addiction. Addiction does not descriminate, it is found in all walks of life and among all societies.
I have many friends that have truly given up their lives to addictions. Some just as young as you all. I lost about nine friends from high school to issues such as these. Take time to think about the decisions you are making.
Sincerely,
Joe S.
Re:my adiction
Posted by Thrill Monster on 8/19/2010 at 11:18 PMAre you addicted to anything?
Re:my adiction
Posted by Joe S on 8/20/2010 at 8:59 AMI would say that we all have little addictions. I love coffee in the morning, so that is caffeine, which is one of the most common addictions. I love water, wouldn't call it an addiction as much as I love to be hydrated (kind of funny, but obsessive... but there are much worse issues that you could have.).
I love sports too, I would say at some point, I was probably addicted to information on sports. I guess there is a fine line between a "hobby" and an addiction. These are not addictions that can or are harming me though. I have had friends and family members who have had life altering addiction issues. It is truly something to be aware of and cautious.
Enjoy life, but do it safely!
Sincerely,
Joe S.

Posted by letting go of the past on 8/27/2010 at 9:52 AMHey everyone,
You all were posting about being addicted to a variety of things, alcohol, drugs, self injury and video games.
I know, from experience, that it can be extremely hard to get over an addiction, particularly if it's a very bad one.
I know of a site, www.dmlive.com This site has blogs, on a variety of the topics mentioned above and how to get help for them, they also have a toll free number and live chat. So if any of you would like to discuss with someone about how to get help you can contact them.
I really hope that I've helped people in some way with this.
Joe S.:
Please let me know if links like the one I posted are okay. It's to a site where there are resources for teens to get help with different things in there life.

Posted by Thrill Monster on 9/18/2010 at 11:04 PMI'm not actually addicted to getting high or drunk. I'm for sure addicted to adrenaline. Whether it's a roller coaster, or a bungee jump, I'm all up for it.
