I just found this site kinda by accident! But it looks kinda fun and i'd like to meet some people who i'd actually be able to relate with! I'm in high school and I'm completely blind due to retinopathy of prematurity.

I'm from California! I have a lot of hobbies haha, uh... Mostly just the usual though hangin out with friends, music, I like sportts as well. What are yours? Haha ya My post got doubled to... Not sure why lol!

I play guitar, and listen to a lot of music, I like camping, reading, playing on the internet, and working lol that's mainly for the payoff.

uh, sorry, I'll have to listen to that I've never heard it before, I like several different musicians, Metallica, tool, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Bullet For My valentine to name a few, the list goes on and on, my Itunes library is huge.

backstreet Boys, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, and Metallica. I love roller coasters, riding horses, camping, and listening to tv. My favorite show is South Park. And I'm from California. Wow, McKenzie, I didn't know you lived in Cali too! My word is green.

Me too, I have ap european history, and it is deffinately the most greuling class I've ever taken, I read braille, and my assignment right now is thirty pages long front and back.

I love physics, even more than chemistry. My history teacher is great, we listen to music for about a quarter of the class, and if we are bordering on any grade, like 79% for instance, he will bump it up to 80%. That and he swares alot LOL.

That class sounds fun, but I don't enjoy any subject at school. I just walk around like a zombie. I sit in class, but can't concentrate so I just stare off in to space then I usually go home and cry or sleep.

I hate any type of science!! I like English a lot though. But that class does sound pretty fun... It kinda sounds like my biology class. The teacher is so weird and she wastes half the class telling stores and stuff lol.

Well, I'm new here too. I came across this place when I was looking for ways to convince my Mom that public school will be better socially and academically for me than the stupid school for the blind I go to, which doesn't have any good technology classes except assistive technology, and that's well, not a real academic class, I don't think. None of the kids there like me, their all into sports, all arrogant and all that. The teachers are OK, most of the time. But the worst part is the dorms/dormitories/cottages/apartments whatever you call them, yeah, my school is southern and loves to shorten stuff. Anyways, I have to stay there all week, don't get to interact with sighted teens much at all, they don't let me go on things like facebook, youtube, or any social network. Although I have found a way to get around their system of blockage, some "M86 web filter", I don't really like braking rules, as that just creates problems for me and the school. But recently, I found a book on the NLS BARD site called "Making it work: educating the blind/visualy empared student in the regular school" or something like that. I am now starting to show the book to my Mom, hoping that she will listen, and we can talk to my Grandmother, who has custody of me, about it, and hope that she will see the truth in it. But now that I know that the freedom of public school does exist, how will I go back to the blind school? If only for a few more months or weeks, it is still going to be hard, dealing with the mentally challenged kids, the inexperienced typing teacher who knows very little about screen readers and screen magnifiers, and all that.

Hello Everyone,
I've never gone to a blind school for the school year but I've gone to my blind school here for the summer because they have this really fun summer camp. Public school can be a pain but it's fun most of the time. People don't talk to me so I feel left out. Most of my teachers and the students think I'm smart because I always try to answer almost every question. My favorite subject is history. I don't know why it's my favorite subject. I've always liked it I guess. I've never taken an ap class before. Sorry it's like two years since this was posted but I thought I'd reply anyway just to see if anyone would answer my reply. hope to hear from everyone soon!
