Hmmm, you used the exact user name that I considered before this one, Phoenixes are my favorite fictitious bird.

The Outsiders by S.E.Hinton it is a great emotional roller-coaster you get real close to the characters in it.
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving it will make your hair stand on ends i love this book so much.
Maximum ride series-James Patterson its a great scifi book i love it it got me back in to reading when i was starting to give books a negative out look.
Currently I'm reading The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty i is great so far the film seems to have followed it almost exactly so far. Frankenstein by Mary Shelly is a great book. I love the movie starring Boris Karloff but it is kind of sad.
The Invisible man by H.G.Wells is great so far too.
