The Hadley School For The Blind

The Hadley School For The Blind offers a lot of informational seminars and classes for the blind and visually impaired. I've heard that you can get high school credits if you take classes through them or participate in some of their online seminars. Does anyone know anything about this because it'd be nice to have some extra high school credits so that I have more things on my college application. Like how exactly does it work and how can I be qualifyed?

Posted by Wingman on 9/18/2011 at 10:54 PMIts actually quite easy to get the extra credits you can contact Hadley admissions and they can give you more details. Your school will have to approve it tho if you want them to go towards your credits there which they can give you info at Hadley's admissions on it. Which enrollment is easy it wasn't a week before i was fully enrolled waiting on my course materials. You can fill out the application on their website give them an eye report and start taking courses.

i'm taking braille reading right now and doing great. I would have done it where they transferred to my school but my school was being stupid saying no 'duel enrollment' when they already had 'duel enrollment' happening for the last four years or more with the local college which they have been strictly incorrigible. Which i'm sure it will work out well for you goodluck

They will help you through the process of getting the courses approved with your schools for credit as well. I think it also gives you experience on taking classes online or via the mail. The onlin courses give you experience that can relate to taking courses online for college. Hadley as large offering of classes for school, recreation, daily living, systems for organization, and more. Their business writing course is pretty helpful as well.
Have you checked out the free self paced online course from AFB CareerConnect called the "Job Seeker's Toolkit"? It is a free and you can get your teacher of the visually impaired to work with you on employment skills and career exploration. Check it out at:

Posted by Joe S on 11/27/2012 at 10:49 AMThe Hadley School offers courses online, via correspondence (mail), and sometimes via phone. They have a number offerings for adults and high school students. They have launched courses for adults on self employment, business and more. I would suggest the communications courses for business are quite useful for all persons.
Hope this helps!
