New Website Update
Posted by D&Bcheerleader on 4/19/2012 at 5:21 PM
Why is it so hard to find the AFB teenconnect section?
It took me 30 minutes to find it, I finally gave up and went to my FB section and found the link they gave me.
Is there another way to find this?

Posted by Joe S on 4/20/2012 at 10:28 AMI will bring it up with our web team. We try to keep TeenConnect off the big list of message boards. But, maybe it is something we need to think more about. You can find it by going to CareerConnect at www.afb.org/cc and then going to Make Connections and CareerConnect Message Boards.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, we appreciate it.
Sincerely,

Posted by D&Bcheerleader on 4/23/2012 at 8:40 PMThank you very much!
I understand that it is a good use for protecting us, so I thought maybe that was why it is so hard to get to.
I just wanted to point it out because if someone wanted to connect with other blind teens, it will be a lot harder for someone who has never been on the site to find it.
If it is a safety concern, then maybe not leave the entire teen connect section 'unlocked" because people can read but not comment. Where as if we list a few subjects perhaps the ones with good info and maybe what we have been talking about most recently?
Does it make sense?

Posted by Joe S on 4/24/2012 at 11:38 AMHey guys!
You can get to TeenConnect and the other AFB CareerConnect associated message boards right from the www.afb.org/cc page -- AFB CareerConnect landing page. It isn't buried, there is a heading called Message Boards it shows the featured message boards from that section. This is a lot better then prior where you had to go into the "For Teens" section to get to it.
It is to limit spam and reduced people from just ending up on the teen message board.
I hope this makes sense, I brought it up with my team today -- just to talk about it. I hope this makes sense and you continue to use TeenConnect.
All the best!
sincerely,
Joe S.

Posted by D&Bcheerleader on 4/25/2012 at 1:16 PMSounds good! Would it make sense to put it in the family connect section too? so that families that have teens that are blind can join? to encourage the parents to allow their kids to talk to us?
Re: New Website Update
Posted by Joe S on 4/26/2012 at 10:11 AMInteresting idea, will bring it up. Even if we don't add it to their message boards, we could probably put something up in the teenager section of FamilyConnect to let parents know about it -- as to pass on the information.
Will mention this idea.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Joe S.
