Windows-Based Tutorials

Windows tutorials are available to assist people who are blind or visually impaired in learning to use Windows and Windows applications. Tutorials come in different formats—cassette, braille, ASCII disk, CD-ROM, and online. These tutorials are designed to assist in reducing the steep learning curve involved in mastering a visual operating system, a new application, and a screen reader at the same time. Some Windows tutorials may be downloaded free of charge from some sites on the Internet. Others may be purchased from various assistive technology manufacturers and independent sources and may cost up to $300.
