Elizabeth Neal oversees AFB's web content and information architecture, ensuring successful implementation of the organization's Internet strategy. She determines the needs of multiple audiences for AFB's web-based information services and ensures that those needs are met through ongoing usability testing. Neal also provides technical expertise for the development of accessible web design. Championing fully accessible graphic design both within and outside the organization, she participates in professional and technical conferences to promote standards for web accessibility.
Besides managing the launch of AFB's online bookstore, the Braille Bug® children's web site, and the Helen Keller Kids Museum, she oversaw the redesign of the online versions of AccessWorld® and the Journal of Visual Impairment & Blindness (JVIB).
Prior to working for AFB, Neal was an acquisitions editor at Cambridge University Press in the social sciences department. She was also a senior research editor at an international brokerage firm, preparing reports on Latin American industries for print and web publication.
Neal received a B.A. in Political Science and English from Williams College, and she also studied at the London School of Economics.
