Lee Huffman joined the American Foundation for the Blind as the national technology associate in 2005. Specializing in the low vision component of AFB TECH's work, Huffman lends his expertise to the evaluation of mainstream and assistive technology products, and web sites. He also participates in AFB's efforts to create guidelines to improve the readability of small screen displays, which are found on a range of everyday items from cell phones, to office equipment, to diabetes monitoring devices.

In addition, Huffman co-authors articles for peer-reviewed scientific journals, including the Journal of Diabetes Science and Technology and the Journal of Visual Impairment and Blindness, and writes in-depth pieces for AFB's online technology magazine AccessWorld® on the topics of new technology and accessibility. He has presented at various blindness conferences, including AFB's national conference, Mississippi State University Conference on Blindness and Low Vision, and the Vision 2008 International Conference on Low Vision.

Prior to his position at AFB Tech, Huffman worked as an instructor at West Virginia Junior College from 1999-2004, teaching courses ranging from business management, to human relations, to American government, among others. Huffman holds a B.A. in Communications from Marshall University in Huntington, WV.
