Biography: Diane L. Fazzi
Diane L. Fazzi,Ph.D., COMS, is Professor in the Division of Special Education, Charter College of Education and coordinator of the Orientation & Mobility Specialist Training Program at California State University, Los Angeles. Prior to joining the faculty of California State, she was an orientation and mobility specialist and teacher of students who are visually impaired in public school districts in Southern California, as well as at the Burwood School for the Blind in Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Fazzi is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Visual Impairment & Blindness, a member of the Research Committee of the Blind Childrens Center in Los Angeles, and is active in both state and national professional organizations. She is the co-editor of Early Focus: Working with Young Blind and Visually Impaired Children and Their Families and the co-author of Imagining the Possibilities: Creative Approaches to Orientation and Mobility Instruction for Persons Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired, as well as the author of numerous book chapters, journal articles, and conference presentations on working with young children who are visually impaired.
